Hello all!

Time for another book review! Today I'm sharing my review for Love, Chocolate, and Beer by Violet Duke.
That is quite the title for a book isn't it! But wow what a great book it was! I love a good series about families. I also love a good series about small towns. Love, Chocolate, and Beer is the first book in the Cactus Creek Series.

This was the first book I've read by Violet Duke. I came across her on Facebook promoting a book title Love, Tussels, and Takedowns. Naturally, being a lover of stories that involve MMA and romance, I was intrigued. I've pre-ordered my copy and can't wait to get it in June. I also purchased a boxed set of some of her other books that were on sale (The Nice Girl to Love Series). I'm always adding to my never ending TBR pile. When Love, Chocolate, and Beer went on sale (and still is on sale by the way for .99 cents over at amazon!) I picked it up!

Side note: There is a prequel to Love, Chocolate, and Beer and it is now at the beginning of the book. I would highly suggest reading this first and not skipping right to Love, Chocolate, and Beer. While you won't miss anything really if you skip it, you will gain so much more insight. So here's my amazon review:

Love, Chocolate, and Beer

This was the first book I've read by Violet Duke. I thought it was everything a great romance should be. It was full of humor and emotions.
Brewmaster Dani, ends up in a heated competition with chocolatier, Luke on which is more romantic: Chocolate or beer. A seemingly realist, when it comes to the truth about love, Dani makes a valiant effort to prove to Luke, a hopeless romantic, that chocolate is just a typical cliche when it comes to romance. Meanwhile, Luke pulls out all the stops in order to show Dani what it's like to truly be romanced. What ensues is an adventure in love, pain, secrets revealed, and the consequences of it all.The story also goes in great detail about both the world of chocolate and beer! I found myself not only wanting to find a place that sells chocolates as decadent as the ones described in the story, but also very different flavored beers that piqued my non-beer loving interest. There were also side stories that were decently weaved in as well.If I truly had a complaint, the only thing I would say is I wish there was more detail in the story of Luke and Dani's friends, Quinn and Rylan's budding relationship. I would have like to know more about how them as a couple and how they were their for each other through some rather tough situations.Even still, the story was great and I can't wait for Love, Tussels, and Takedowns!

Ok! I don't know how I forgot to mention this in my review, but this book has some sweet heat. Miss Duke has a way with words when it comes to those steamy scenes. She's very subtle with her wording, but the end result packs almost as much heat as other more descriptive writers. She lets the reader use their imagination!

I know Miss Duke has mentioned that some of the other characters will be getting their own stories, but I hope she does at least a short stories on Quinn and Rylan's romance to expound on it! I was so hoping for more of them. I hope you pick up her books! They're great!

Happy Reading!

P.S. There are also two more Catcus Creek Novels available for pre-order: Love, Exes, and Ohs and Love, Sidelines, and Endzones (I LOVE her titles! LOL)
